WORKING AS A GERIATRICIAN IN SWEDEN

In Sweden, geriatricians mainly work in public hospitals and specialist geriatric clinics, caring for older patients with complex and often multiple medical conditions. Their work is highly multidisciplinary and usually involves close collaboration with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other specialists. Geriatricians assess acute and chronic illnesses, medication, mobility, cognitive problems and rehabilitation needs, with a strong focus on maintaining patients’ independence and quality of life. Positions often combine inpatient care, outpatient follow-up and cooperation with primary care and municipal elderly-care services.

Before you register, please go through the list of requirements below:

To be specialized as a geriatrician.
To be an EU citizen OR have long-term residency in any of the EU member countries.

If you are not an EU citizen and/or your title are not from EU countries:

Your specialty title must be recognised in any of the EU member countries.
You must have worked at least 3 years in any of the EU member countries AFTER your title had been recognized.
